Diamond Antenna and Microwave Corp Unveils Broadband Single-Channel Coax Rotary Joint

Diamond Antenna and Microwave, provider of high-performance RF/Microwave rotary joints, today announced the release of its next generation broadband single-channel Rotary Joint in an extremely compact package. Diamond has enhanced its flagship single-channel rotary joint product line to give Satellite terminal manufactures greater design flexibility for their “Satellite on the Move” terminal platforms. In addition, Test labs, Engineers and developers of Ka-band systems and above now only need on rotary joint instead of three? The Ka-band and above is a highly desirable for Satcom system development due to the High data rate through put that can be achieved.

“The compact design of our new broadband single-channel rotary joint gives satellite platform designers greater flexibility in using smaller and lighter-weight terminals,” said John MacMillan, Director of Sales for Diamond Antenna. “In addition, developers and test labs will benefit by only needing one Rotary Joint to cover multiple bands from Ka and above.” 

The broadband single-channel rotary joint, series 2150-0, supports the frequency range of DC-50 GHz using 2.4mm coax connectors. The unit provides excellent electrical performance with Insertion Loss less than 0.75 dB from DC to 26.5 GHz and less than 1.2 dB from 26.5 GHz to 50 GHz. For the same frequency ranges, VSWR is 1.5:1 and 1.8:1 respectively. The unit’s weight is one ounce. 

Several versions of the 2150-0 series are available as well as special requirements within this series to handle a variety of applications from Y to Z.
