PRODUCTION PLANNER

RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
• Plans, develops, and implements production control milestones and priorities.
• Requisitions and analyzes each item for quantity, specifications, and delivery requirements which may include purchases with local Outside Process suppliers.
• Coordinates activities from purchasing and manufacturing departments.
• Organizes all production activities related to control, scheduling, receipt, and distribution of materials and parts.
• Responsible for routing and expediting the movement of parts, end items, supplies, and materials within production and repair departments to meet customer ship dates.
• Works with manufacturing staff to plan production schedule.
• Minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.
• Establishes effective communication between purchasing, production assembly, test, quality control, machine shop, repair department, and engineering to achieve goals and plans.
• Implements ECN or customer change orders.
• Back-up driver to deliver & pick-up orders at local vendors as needed (Clean driving record required).
• Support Shipping and Receiving functions as needed. May include use of basic tools (screw gun, saws, etc.) and crating of large assemblies.
• Understanding of BOM structures and inventory control processes

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Requires a minimum of three years of experience in purchasing, planning, & production control. Experience in RF Microwave preferred.
• Graduation from a technical high school and/or college

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of microwave materials, assembly, and test processes a plus
• Detail knowledge of ERP system and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of export control and compliance requirements
• Basic knowledge and understanding of mechanical drawings
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to juggle production orders based on vendor or customer demands.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Lifting up to 80lbs, desk work approx. 50%, standing approx. 25% and expedite and moving internally approx. 25%.
